Pub · Kentish Town · 109 tips and reviews
Sam M: My favourite pub in London, feels like it's been transplanted from somewhere in Yorkshire. Wood, meat, real fire, cheap. Cash only, super friendly staff, great beers and cider, proper bar snacks.
Sam M: Utterly unique, great beer at decent prices, really nice staff. Sit/stand outside and watch the world, and some interesting local characters, go by. Upstairs is good too, though toilets are tiny.
Sam M: Fantastic rock bar with excellent beer. Always dark, usually loud, can get very busy. Great value street food often served late on the weekends. Gigs held upstairs, loud yet good sound system.
Sam M: My favourite brewery to visit in London - great beer at reasonable prices, really lovely atmosphere - good music, unpretentious, super relaxed and friendly. There is a KITTY called Len <3

Sam M: What a great pub. Laid-back, unpretentious, friendly staff, great atmosphere, good music, inexpensive. Conservatory, beer garden, BBQ, Thai food. Beer range could be better but certainly not bad.

Sam M: Massive place, best when the sun is shining and you can sit outside. Bavarian drinking hall vibes. Reasonable prices and of course fantastic beer.

Pub · King's Cross · 61 tips and reviews
Sam M: Landlord knows his booze: great beer/cider range and selection, lots of good whiskies and even quality absinthe served properly (no shots or fire here). Ploughmans-style food, laid-back staff.
Sam M: My favourite London BD. Often busy and noisy upstairs yet basement usually retains a chilled, yet vibrant, atmosphere, good bluesy music; perfect place to enjoy cocktails or Cocoa Psycho. Have both.
Sam M: Great beer, better than BBNO's in my opinion. More seating and a better atmosphere here too. Really friendly and helpful staff despite often being really busy. A must when in Bermondsey.
Sam M: A little haven away from the crowds in North Camden. Great Thai food, good selection of beer and cider, good outdoor area, laid back and unpretentious. AND THERE'S A KITTY!!!!1
Sam M: Often rammed with people not drinking the fantastic Brodies beer. Great staff. Nice traditional pub, TVs can annoy (usually when football is on) but did I mention the amazing beer?

Sam M: Good food, though gets stupidly busy. The home of Beavertown brewery so of course, amazing beer. Great atmosphere and staff. Spiced pumpkin ale... *drools*

Pub · City of London · 168 tips and reviews
Sam M: Amazing old Sam Smith's pub: real fires, low ceilings, cubby holes, a wonderful basement beer hall without mobile signal. Like drinking in another age; sawdust on the floor, people talk to each other.

Pub · 76 tips and reviews
Sam M: Close to Angel station yet far enough away from Upper Street/Essex Road to be a beery safe haven from all the wasted idiots on a weekend. Great beer, fantastic atmosphere, lovely place in general.
Pub · Twickenham, London, Greater London · 24 tips and reviews
Sam M: Great beer and a fantastic cider selection, nice traditional feel, lovely beer garden. Food looks good. Possibly my favourite pub in West London, shame it's at the end of the universe in Twickers.

Beer Bar · Camden Town · 148 tips and reviews
Sam M: Not a lot you can say about BrewDog Camden; fantastic beer, buzzy atmosphere. Nice staff, food is good and reasonably priced. The "hop bunker" is usually laid-back even when it's rammed upstairs.
13 North Hill (near Broadlands Rd), London, Greater London
Pub · 17 tips and reviews
Sam M: Cosy and festooned with hops, brews its own beer and has some hard to find bottles at not-ridiculous prices. Locally microdistilled spirits. Laid-back, friendly staff. Wine & food looks great.
55 Britton St (at St John's Path), London, Greater London
Pub · Clerkenwell · 73 tips and reviews
Sam M: Lovely super-old pub, very popular with the after-work crowd so get there early. St. Peters beers, which aren't particularly easy to find in pubs, and are much better on cask than in bottles.
Sam M: Looks rubbish from outside but first class beer quality and selection, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere. Often quite busy. Menu is limited but burgers are great. Notable condiments.
Sam M: Fullers pub so standard beer but with an insanely large collection of single malt whiskies - if you don't know what to try the staff are very helpful. Nice cosy atmosphere, also the food looks EPIC.
Sam M: Tiny and often crowded but ridiculously good beer selection, friendly staff and a nice place to escape from the madness of Borough Market. Not cheap, especially if you go for the limited US imports.
Beer Bar · Holborn and Covent Garden · 102 tips and reviews
Sam M: Laid back beer heaven. Not such a huge draught range as the Islington CB Co, but a more relaxed atmosphere. Perfect destination after a sneaky pie from Pie Minister down the road.
Sam M: A massive place though excellently designed, doesn't feel like a warehouse. Great decor, lots of bits to explore. Irish beers you've probably never heard of, good bottle selection too.
119 Balls Pond Rd (at Culford Rd), Dalston, Greater London
Pub · 46 tips and reviews
Sam M: Down-to-earth pub with good craft beer selection in the heart of Dalston. Not too expensive, friendly staff and unpretentious atmosphere. Food looks good.
Sam M: Has a wider range than BrewDog's other London pubs. It's a big space yet retains atmosphere. Great staff and old-school arcade machines. Serves good quality US-style BBQ food.
Sam M: Ridiculous number of beers on tap here, amazing selection. Quite expensive. Comfortable yet buzzy atmosphere, usually busy most days of the week.
Sam M: "Organic" gastropub which tries to keep everything local, seasonal and independent. Very Islington, yet down-to-earth. Some good beers you won't find elsewhere, and Dunkertons' awesome Cider on tap.
Sam M: Another good Brewdog. This one gets super crowded but there is a lot of seating to be found if you explore downstairs. Veggie Haggis melt and Hop-infused chips was amazing, perfect drinking food.
188 Euston Rd (at East Lodge), Euston, Greater London
Pub · 35 tips and reviews
Sam M: Widest range of ciders I've seen in a pub, though not all are great. Try the Pommeau. More relaxed and less crowded than the sister Tap over the road, no-one minds if you walk over with a beer.
Sam M: Large, relaxed bar located in an area with not too many options for good beer - an oasis of sorts. Dark and cosy at night. Friendly staff, Good selection and well kept, reasonable prices.
Pub · Holborn and Covent Garden · 97 tips and reviews
Sam M: Top quality beer and a great range. Friendly staff good for recommendations. Gets very crowded, but good for people watching whilst sitting by the windows.
Sam M: Huge place, with foosball, table tennis and a massive beer garden. Retains a chilled vibe. Quite decent beer selection, friendly staff, good food if a bit pricey for the area.
19 Perth Rd (at Ennis Rd), Finsbury Park, Greater London
Pub · 107 tips and reviews
Sam M: Traditional pub meets beer hall meets massive multi-tiered beer garden - which gets ridiculously crowded in good weather. Good but not great beer, nice Thai food for not a lot of money.
Sam M: Traditional single room pub, bonkers stuff on the walls, decent jukebox, really laid-back atmosphere. Beer can be hit and miss but it's definitely unique, and very friendly.
Sam M: How did I walk past this place a gazillion times and not go in? Anyway, great beer selection with quite decent pricing for the area, candles, wood, lots of atmosphere.
Sam M: Quite tiny compared to the other CB pubs, awesome beer as expected. Feels like a Brixton version of the Euston Tap for some reason - which is a good thing ;)
Sam M: Often rammed and consequently quite loud but the beer and cider here is fantastic. Perfect for when there's a gig at the union chapel or garage and an injection of hops is required before, or after.
Pub · Covent Garden, Greater London · 29 tips and reviews
Sam M: Charming little place, a nice refuge from Covent Garden craziness. One of two central pubs serving draught Brodies beer, the Old Coffee House has a better range but this is cosier, and often quieter.
Sam M: Like the other CBCo pubs, an insane number of beer lines and of course it's all great quality. Well placed for sitting and watching the world go by, can get busy but lots of seating downstairs.
Sam M: CAMRA-tastic though don't let that put you off, they pick beers with bold flavour profiles, some are even over 6% ;) Often crowded, with good reason - it's a lovely traditional pub and quite unique.
Unit 7, White Building (Queens Yard), London, Greater London
Brewery · Tower Hamlets · 223 tips and reviews
Sam M: Fantastic pizza (worth the wait), good-not-great beer, wall-to-wall hipsters, reggae/dub/minimal techno music, nice canal-side drinking if you can get a seat (unlikely).
Sam M: The home of Brodies beer, this is a "proper" east London boozer. Insanely cheap, zero pretension, and pictures of the queen everywhere. Ignore the rampant patriotism and enjoy the fantastic beer.
69 Coburg St (at Euston St), Euston, Greater London
Pub · 65 tips and reviews
Sam M: A CAMRA beer festival in pub form, the Bree has a huge selection of cask "ales" and "real" cider, and often smells a bit. Don't expect anything kegged or carbonated. Grumpy staff. Unique.
Sam M: Not cheap, but a great atmosphere and lots of Belgian beers you can't find in (m)any other places, especially on cask. Staff can be grumpy but they usually know their beer and the food is good.
57 Mornington Terrace (Delancey St), London, Greater London
Pub · 81 tips and reviews
Sam M: You won't be blown away by the drinks selection but the atmosphere is great and there's a massive beer garden, which goes particularly well with Thatcher's Katy cider. Stupidly busy in good weather.
Sam M: Lovely cosy old pub. Not a great beer selection but Punk IPA on keg is up to standard, and you can't argue with sitting out on the edge of the Thames when the weather is good.
Sam M: Fairly unique and a good destination when other places in Soho are rammed. Dutch and Belgian beers, laid back place most of the time. Don't go for Bacchus, Liefmanns Kriek is far superior.
Sam M: Not a spectacular beer selection but nicely kept, friendly place and cosy. Nice large seating area out the back and Thai food. Off the track somewhat, laid-back atmosphere.
