Order hot bean devilled eggs and a round of frozen margs while you work out what else you want. The ox cheek and green chilli mac and cheese are divine, as is the storied chicken roll on the bar menu.
Three years after my last tip, it saddens me to say that Rita's have now left Mare Street as of 31/7/16. Follow the gang on Twitter (@RitasDining) to see what they do next. 🙁
Rita's will no longer be at Birthdays after 20/4/13. Follow @RitasDining on Twitter to see where they end up next. Fine frozen margaritas, good food (pork and chicken) and great hospitality.
Can't justify prices like this for such small plates at a restaurant that sits next to The Dolphin and a fried chicken joint. Overrated but am sure the hipsters will love it.
Don't know if we went on an off night, but the food was pretty awful... We left half of it on the plate and asked for the bill after twenty minutes. It was actually kind of embarrassing.
Awful. Just awful. No explanation that the dishes come as they are ready which means they were served over a 20 minute window. Dishes are small. Don't come hungry. Service was clumsy and slow.
Didn't enjoy the Mare street incarnation very much, food wasn't really that special and service was a bit... confused. Shame as I really wanted to like it.
