Come here to get a taste of New Orleans culture- see street artists, vendors, musicians, fortune tellers, the horse-drawn carriages, walk along the Riverwalk, grab a beignet, tour the Katrina museum.
Go in and grab a table! (You'll see tourists waiting in line to be seated, but it's seat yourself people!) Get an order of beignets and a café au lait. Grab plenty of napkins.
The interactive area is really educational for little ones (and secretly the adults too)!
I buy at least two pair of cheap sunglasses here every year. Great place to shop for souvenirs to bring home to your friends.

The Southern Breakfast -- so good and filling. The rosemary cheese grits are comforting and tasty. Opp for the alligator sausage and biscuit. Oh, and double Bloody Mary--extra spicy!
Sit outside and eat all of the fried food, live music on the patio – home of the ice-cream-based daiquiri. Yeah
Cheese curds are on point. Turkey sandwich is delicious and huge. Staff is super friendly!

Fun spot. I prefer coming here during the day - better drink specials and more "aware" patrons than at night.
Fun/cheap way to see the Upper Garden District with all of the historical homes. Hop on and off to grab a drink or do some shopping.

Amazing, eclectic collection of New Orleans artists. Huge building & courtyard. It's nice that the vendors are offsite, so you feel like you're in a thrift shop.
Atmosphere is everything here. Coffee shop, full bar, barista playing the piano like a boss on his break, comfy couches. Great spot.
Looks small from the outside, but it's roomy. Healthy and naughty options. Really enjoyed this place.
