The new stadium opened on April 2, 2009, when the Yankees hosted a workout day in front of fans from the Bronx community. The Yankees are the only team to inaugurate 2 stadiums with World Series wins.
Built in 1914, the "Friendly Confines" was host to Babe Ruth's alleged "called shot" during the 1932 World Series. Lights were added to the ballpark in 1988.
This ballpark has been home to the San Francisco Giants since it opened in 2000. Barry Bonds passed Babe Ruth on the all-time list when he hit his 715th home run here on May 28th, 2006.
