Number one tip: GET HERE EARLY! We got to St. Peter's Basilica at 8am on a Monday. NO LINE!
Get a shuttle when you arrive! They take you to Termini (where you can get the metro to almost anywhere in Rome) or to other parts of Rome. Ask! We paid 5 euros to Termini!
Got to Piazza di Spagna from Piazza del Popolo.. Got to go down the Spanish steps instead of up! Great tip for a hot summer day!
This place is beyond words! Worth it to book a tour so you can skip the line and learn a lot!
Visited the third day we were here. Purchased our tickets on line for 20 euros each. Did not have to wait in line! Must see when in Rome!
Beware of sellers trying to "gift" you flowers and bracelets! They can be pretty comfrontational.
Watch out for people trying to "help" you buy tickets at the machines..
