The small town of Chatham sits on the elbow of Cape Cod, surrounded on three sides by water. Here are some of the best things to do while visiting this quaint little village.
Carolyn: The best coffee shop on Cape Cod! I get regular cravings for the coconut iced coffee, and the cranberry walnut chicken salad wrap is to die for!
Carolyn: A wonderful gallery owned by photographer Christopher Seufert and scupltor/painter Richard Koury. While there, don't miss seeing Susan Savory's work. Delightful!
Carolyn: Absolutely delicious food! The dinner menu can be a bit pricey, but the lunch menu is one of the best values in Chatham. And this restaurant is open year-round! (Tip: locals love to eat at the bar!)
Carolyn: I'm convinced that this place has the best view on the entire Cape! The menu is way over-priced, but to have the opportunity to enjoy your lunch with this incredible view makes it worth the price!
Carolyn: This is the place to be at 8 p.m. on Friday nights during the summer to hear the famous Chatham Band perform. The quintessential Cape Cod summer experience!
Carolyn: Fabulous candy of all kinds--chocolates, penny candy, fudge, taffy, and more! They even make homemade candy canes here at Christmastime. (Tip: buy a bag of candy to take to the Chatham Band Concert!)
Carolyn: The best bookstore on Cape Cod. Owned by a mother and daughter, it's filled with books all carefully selected. They also host wonderful literary luncheons during the summer--not to be missed!
Carolyn: For over 50 years the students of Ohio University have performed plays here during the summer. They work so hard and do such an incredible job! This has quickly become my favorite theatre on Cape Cod!
Carolyn: Nothing says summer like the Cape Cod Baseball League. Head to Veterans Field on a warm summer evening for a Chatham Anglers game . The game is free, but be sure to contribute to the 50-50 raffle.
Carolyn: A wonderful historic library with a personable staff. Come here to check out books and videos, or curl up in a cozy chair to read the newspaper. They also offer free wireless.
Carolyn: Located in Chatham at the elbow of Cape Cod, this is a very popular beach in the summertime. However, my favorite time to walk this beach is in the winter when it's quiet and bare.
