Weekend in Amsterdam

Alyssa G.: Has become a bit touristy but I still take guests here for their first fresh stroopwafel and poffertjes! The mediterranean stand also has some of the most amazing hummus I have ever tried!

Alyssa G.: One of my favorite brunch spots! No reservations so come early or be prepared to wait

Alyssa G.: In the middle of chaotic center, this is an adorable cozy bakery, grab some delicious carrot cake and sit out on their little back porch to catch some sun and watch the boats pass through

Alyssa G.: Local dutch beer in a windmill brewery, what more can you ask for?

Alyssa G.: Typical brown bar with huge selection of different beer, including lots of trappist and belgium beer

Alyssa G.: Great brunch location, especially on a sunny day when you can sit on the patio

Alyssa G.: Take a nice stroll through the park or stop at one of the restaurants for a bite to eat. In the summer, bring out your picnic blanket and albert heijn barbeque is a great way to spend the day.

Alyssa G.: Giant sized pancakes, both sweet and savory

Alyssa G.: Get the audio guide and book a time in advance; this is one of my favorite museums because it takes you through the evolution of Van Gogh's life as painter rather than individual, unrelated paintings

Alyssa G.: Great mix of different kinds of cover bands; free entry before 10:30 on the weekends (after it is 5 euro)

Alyssa G.: Food hall with stands from several other food spots across Amsterdam.

Alyssa G.: Soooo good! and great to help overcome a long night out

Alyssa G.: Not much to look at inside, but amazing dim sum!

Alyssa G.: Only able to get in by reservation which needs to be made on the same day. Nice high-end cocktails, pricey but worth going for 1 or 2

Alyssa G.: This is my go-to chocolate store for gifts or special occasions

Alyssa G.: Open to the public, go to the rooftop lounge of the W hotel right off of Dam square and enjoy the view with a fancy cocktail

Alyssa G.: If you are a beer fanatic, this shop sells beers from literally all over the world and sometimes you are even lucky enough to find a Westvleteren 12
