The most visited museum in the Netherlands. The museum contains the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. Amazing and you will enjoy it.
Every Friday evening the museum stays open until 10pm. Join one of the free guided tours of the permanent collection (7pm in English, 8pm in Dutch). You could also enjoy cocktails and music.
Take your time, if possible take a multimedia guide. Read about Van Gogh paintings before you go. Sunflowers, lovers, irises, almond blossoms, potato eaters are must see. Starry night is not here.
Must see museum! The audio guide is worth the 5€ and they have a kid's treasure hunt with a small prize at the end...made my 7 year old incredibly happy and learned about Van Gogh in the process!

The way this museum presents Van Gogh's lifetime work showcases impressive storytelling. Learned a lot during my visit. Make sure to give it at least 3 hours &book ahead to avoid waiting in line.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The audio guide is worth every penny. Lockers are free and you can take your time looking at the paintings. Must do in Amsterdam!
Book tickets online in advance and you can skip the queue. Allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy all the works, not just the most popular, but you can still get through in 2 hours or less.
Amazing place! Listening to Van Gogh's letters, stories of his paintings, walking though the places he used to go... amazing experience & a MUST in Amsterdam!

Utterly amazing. It would be a mistake to visit Amsterdam and not see this Museum. Four floors of one of the most famous artists of all times beautiful work. Definitely worth going to.
Van Gogh's life and paintings in one place (I mean those that aren't in other museums). Loved it, do not miss it when you are in Amsterdam. Buy tickets online.
You must visit this museum if you’re interested in art. It’s well organised and helped me understand the life and career of one of my favorite artists better. Buy online tickets to avoid long lines.
Interesting museum of van Gogh's work. The storytelling gives you an understanding of the artist's psychosynthesis. The audio guide is worth buying. It can be very crowded so be prepared for long queues.
This was my favorite part of my trip to Amsterdam. Get the audio guide and make sure that you have enough time to stop by the museum's store before it closes
Wonderful collection, not terribly large but big enough to keep you occupied for at least an hour. Go after three, purchase ticket online. Coffee shop beforehand and park afterwards recommended too
They have the best audio guide for kids that completely pulls them in. The collection is comprehensive and well worth several visits to take it all in.
Get the audio guide and book a time in advance; this is one of my favorite museums because it takes you through the evolution of Van Gogh's life as painter rather than individual, unrelated paintings
May you be a fan of Van Gogh or not this place is brilliant! It's not only about Van Gogh himself but it also gives you context of the era he lived and created in
Exceptional collection; really well laid out museum. Working through Van Gogh's art chronologically alongside the narrative of his life was incredibly helpful. Must visit.
Amazing place. Very interesting painting workshop with profesional and kind artist. You can pick your picture to home. Really good distribution in general. Sadly I must leave before the concerts.
We visited the museum on a Monday at 14:15 and it was really crowded. It might be worthy investigating when it’s less crowded. There’s another cloakroom in the first floor. Don’t line downstairs!

Great museum! I loved how everything was organized and related to each other. I'll definitely recommend this museum. You might want to first visit the lower floor for a shortdocumentary on his life.
VERY crowded, try to hit early if you want an up close view of the art. Get the museumkaart if you plan on hitting all museums in this area and almost anything else in Amsterdam that requires a ticket
Wonderful, well-organized collection of works by Van Gogh and information about his short career as an artist. The info really helped me understand him and his art better. I highly recommend it!
Had to queue for 2 hrs with a ticket purchased online at the CanalTour company's site 😁 along with all other ticket holders just to realize that the ticket on iPad won't be accepted, need print out!
Buy tickets in advance to avoid the line. Great collection of Van Gogh's art and the history of his life. Starry night is not here - painting is located in MoMA in New York.
Van Gog's artworks include landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and are characterised by bold colours and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art.
Absolutely beautiful museum. A lot of focus is on Van Gogh's process, how he painted over canvasses, on top of other paintings; you can literally view his brushstrokes under a microscope! loved it.
Well, my wife loved this place. Definitely take the audio guide since it will tell you all these crazy stories about Van Gogh and his paintings which are awesome btw
Great collection of Van Gogh's masterpieces. Very recommended to read comments near each one, to get the most of it. Taking photos is not permitted. There is free and fast Wifi connection.
