- The best bar in the area, possibly in town. Excellent prices, great regulars, and Tommy and Angela are a delight every time. My home away from home.
- TenantKing.comJuly 25, 2014Although on Fridays this place can get a little too crowded, any other day this is a great place to grab a bite and some drinks with friends. Also the 3$ Yuenglings are a steal!
- All day happy hour and cheap drinks. The food is you standard bar food - sandwiches and burgers with a special or two thrown in - but it's a good value for what you get.
- The Corcoran GroupFebruary 17, 2012A wonderfully dark and divey bar where the drinks are cheap, the bartenders are friendly and the patrons are suitably subdued.
- Carlos ValleFebruary 26, 2015This place is simple - on purpose. Cheap pints or nicer bottles if you want them. It's an older crowd which makes it relatively quiet!
- Standard beer on tap but a number of craft beers in bottles/cans including Dogfish Head, and locals: Blue Point, Six Point, Brooklyn, and Bronx Pale Ale.
- John PaterakisSeptember 1, 2015Well known to old Wall Street hands. A good place to avoid the lunch crowds. Good food without the ridiculous expense-account prices.
- Untapped CitiesNovember 8, 2014The “Kerouac, go home!” that once decorated this tavern’s bathroom walls was a testament to how much the Desolation Angels author frequented the place. Read more
- Emily KolodnerMarch 2, 2015can't complain when a beer costs less than $5 in nyc. surprisingly, the turkey club was actually pretty delicious.
- Kerryn UngerOctober 13, 2017Cheap drinks, simple food, and a real pub atmosphere. Don't expect to be treated like you are special, that's the whole point.
- A bar like any other, only more so. Best bet for cheap beer in the neighborhood. Bar food ain't bad either.
- Zach RiisFebruary 19, 2021$5 pbr and a shot. Dont forget to get a burger and see when Tommy is working.
- Blink2HappyDaysMay 27, 2023Affordable food, the place was full when I went during lunch time. It’s kind of small.
- See Loraine or Tom before 5pm. See Angela on the 2nd floor after. Best bar service!!
- SatishDecember 16, 2012This is where Dylan Thomas drank himself to death, Anais Nin and Seymour Krim talked shop, and where someone once scrawled "Go home, Kerouac!" on the bathroom wall.
- Cheapest Guiness in NY. Old school with an awesome staff.
- Martha Miss IvySeptember 14, 2012they definitely water down their liquor. I know my makers mark from anywhere. get a beer
- Angela upstairs is amazing. Everyone here is awesome. I work around the corner and am here often ;-)
- Aarthi D.August 10, 2013Kind of a dive? But the harried bartender gave us good service in spite of the sudden demand. Narrow and not that deep. If you have a group, I suggest going elsewhere.
- Roast beef, heated, with cheddar on a roll with gravy on the side. Dip it. Delicious. Wash it down with Bud Light - superior drinkability.
