The Peacock has a menu of updated English classics, like pan-fried trout, steak & chips, braised veal shank, rabbit pie, and several puddings. The Shakespeare has a menu of hearty pub grub.

Reasonably priced prix fixe brunch - $28 for an appetizer, main and a mimosa or a Bellini (they can sub in a Bloody Mary if you ask nicely). Most mains can be made vegetarian if that's your thing.

The Peacock has a rather nice Library Bar which has an air of refined literary elegance, well-stocked bookcases, generously upholstered couches and a fire. Get them to fix you a fortifying hot toddy. Read more

Go to the library-esq bar on the left side right when you enter the William hotel. Drinks to die for and a great oak ridden atmosphere
