Skip breakfast. Bring an appetite to try all sorts of grub. Persuade a bunch of friends to try different tents and sample. Eat in the waterfront park next door & relax and get s'mores if it's chilly.
My faves: mighty Quinn's BBQ, la casa de camba salteñas, salud shakes, noshi "sushi," dough donuts, bk soda, veggie schnitzel, yuji ramen, hash bar to name a few
Everyone knows the lobster roll is the thing to get at Smorgasburg. What the chicken and waffle from Buttermilk Channel Fried Chicken presupposes is, maybe it isn't....
Go straight to the Grady's stand at this food market for the best NOLA style cold brew iced coffee. You can also find it on shelves at Fairway or online.
Believe this has ended for the season, but check the website for when it'll be up & running again in the spring -- great food and an excellent Sunday funday activity.
Huge variety of spots to choose from, albeit if you go with a veggie you'll notice their disappointment at the over abundance of meat spots vs almost complete lack of green stalls. Money to be made!
Landhaus had no line and a huge porkchop with slaw within a toasted sesame bun, goodness! Vietnamese crepe was alright, even better tho their coffee was strong : )
Food highlights include doughnuts from Brooklyn’s Dough (try flavors like blood orange and dulce de leche) and hot dogs from Meat Hook, brisket sandwiches from Mighty Quinn’s.
Try Empire Mayonnaise Co.’s line of artisanal mayos, with more outré flavors available each week (foie gras, black garlic). It’s one of our #100best dishes and drinks of 2011. Read more
Go if you want to move at snails pace, lineup for a sandwich you could get in 5 minutes at the original restaurant and spend 4x the price of an ordinary brunch. People's Pops rule!
If you're willing to brave some of the lines, there's absolutely nothing you can't find @ Smorgasburg. Most vendors offer samples before purchasing, so don't be shy. Great food education in general.
If there was a foodie heaven on earth, it would be Smorgasburg. Our fav place to grab lunch on Saturdays! Don't leave w/o grabbing some bacon from Landhaus!
This fast-expanding Brooklyn company adds chicory to locally roasted Porto Rico Importing Co. beans for increased sweetness. Dilute with water or, for a creamy café au lait effect, 2 percent milk.
Get gere early, and don't bother coming if there's a chance of rain, as many vendors don't take the risk if the weather isn't nice. Milk Truck is a must!!
The lines. The crowds. If you're not into that, don't go. Or go by yourself with a game-plan. Otherwise good luck going nuts trying to find your friend as you trip on brunch-drunks and baby strollers.
Don't leave without trying a grilled cheese from the Milk Truck and savoring a barbecue pork banh mi from BEP. We also love the Blue Marble Ice Cream and grilled hot dogs from the Meat Hook.
Dogs allowed, and I think I spotted an ATM near the North mid-exit. Brooklyn Bean Co has a fantastic and super-filling lamb + white bean chili for only $7.
