Semi-pricey, black owned vegan restaurant. Quality food, great selection and laid back. People come for soul food faves like mac & cheese, greens, and ribs/wings. But there's a lot more to taste!
This place was a revelation to me. I'd never had Southern, let alone vegan Southern food before. The collared greens, mac n cheese and bbq "ribs" were amazing. Great prices too.
Pair a hearty portion of the macaroni and "cheese" with the restaurant's sweet vinaigrette kale salad and fried "chick'n" sandwich for a true soul food-inspired meal. Read more
THE MAC AND CHEESE IS INCREDIBLE. Everyone here is so friendly. I'm from NYC and would consider coming back to DC *JUST* to eat here again. There's nothing like this place anywhere else.
Don't leave this vegan restaurant leave without the macaroni and "cheese," a pasta so garlicky and addictive it could satisfy any vegan's jones for the real thing (tofu helps give it its creaminess). Read more
This is the best vegan restaurant I've ever been to. I recommend trying the mac n cheese, lasagna, crab cakes, chicken drumsticks, chicken salad. However, the curry tofu was bland. Friendly service.
Fantastic vegan restaurant. Great low key place for a date night. Guilt free! Some of the entrees are on the sweet side so make sure to try a free sample before you dig in.
For the mac and cheese, Woodlands chef Chef Mickiyah Woodland emulsifies fresh soy milk with olive oil, garlic and nutritional yeast, which turns it into a heavenly cream with a cheesy flavor. Read more
1st time going I had vegan crab cake. Definitely recommend getting it in a sandwich. Mac & cheese was good as well. Nice sitting area, couches by window.
Went there to try their Mac and cheese and “ Fried chicken “. I was not disappointed, also had their carrot cream smoothie with almond milk .. so yummy
It was like rainbows and butterflies on a plate. The mac'n cheese is outta this world and greens were awesome! Did I mention the raw fruit bar?! If this is immortality sign me up!
Friendly service and lots of delicious choices. If you're there for food, walk all the way back past the cash registers. Sample before committing to their sides because it's really hard to choose.
There's a learning curve for your first trip, but the payoff in food quality, variety, and serving sizes makes this 100% worth it (and a return visit).
