Must see the Tudors Portrait Gallery. Fantastic views from the restaurant over many of London's most emblematic buildings. Lunch a bit expensive for what you get, service not so good.

As you leave each room, look at the painting/sculpture by the door. almost all of them stare at you condescendingly proclaiming "leaving are you? well...fine". very amusing

Earliest portrait? That of Henry VII. Don't forget that contemporaries never referred to themselves or their monarchs as 'Tudors'.
