If you want to transport back to the early 2000s and cozy up to the table next to you, try the yellowtail with jalapeño, crispy rice with spicy tuna, black miso cod, and creamy spicy crab. It works.
Restaurant week ($38): Rock shrimp tempura, assorted sushi, and tiramisu. All great, but you may want to dip under the fish on your sushi and remove some of the wasabi. It can be awfully harsh.
Just launched brunch. Many of the dishes are Japanese riffs on American brunch classics. Options include "scrambled eggdonburi," blueberry and yuzusobapancakes, lobster with soba and poached eggs.
For brunch, consider the excellent Breakfast Tacos. Beef inside, quail egg on top. Delicious! If only the portions were larger - I need another entree now.... The cocktails are just superb.
Get the salmon new style, jalapenoyellowtail, fluke tiradito style. Also get the black cod in butter lettuce wraps. Cheaper and better than the regular black cod
Attentiveness. The food is excellent. From the appetisers to the desserts, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The cappuccino was velvety smooth and delicious.
More or less enjoyed everything, particularly the black miso cod and the yellowtail jalapeño dish, but it’s popular with expense accounts for a reason. More about the vibes than the food.
Chicken in chicken and waffles was awesome. So was the Crispy Rice "Bagel" and the breakfast tacos, though personally I think you can skip the Lobster and grits!
Came here for Valentine’s Day (pre fix menu). Sushi and sashimi was amazing but wasn’t a fan of the fried fish balls. Super pricey for fish that wasn’t the best I’ve had in the city.
You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Pricy but so good! Also don't need reservations and easier to access than regular Nobu. Less likely to see a celebrity though
3 tips in 1: change up the rock shrimp by getting it with the honeytruffle aioli (off menu). Don't be shy about getting 1/2 orders. And get a mojito with yuzu and shiso instead of lime and mint.
Get the sauteed tofu dish with jalapeno sauce (off the menu), grilled vegetableskewers with the red chilimarinade, the vegetablesushi and the bento boxdessert. Yum!
The ambiance and décor alone is reason enough to dine here. However, its innovative cuisine is a treat for all of your senses. -Lynda Erkiletian, Real Housewives of DC
I recommend the omakase which allows the chef to choose the dishes for you. Ask for the black cod cooked in miso as it is one of Nobu's signature dishes.
Great food. Iffy service. Had to wait 30 mins for a reserved table for 2. Since the heat was on blast I waited outside on the steps, only to be lectured by the manager. Now that's just wack...
Nobu Downtown is situated in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District, offering a striking subterranean dining experience, as well as an exclusive sake table and a beautiful private event space. Descend the stairs to the dining room to indulge in Nobu signatures including Black Cod Miso and Ye...
