Do yourself a favour and order the spicy Alaskan crab. It comes with a side of fries drenched with the same spicy sauce. Hands down best fries! Loved it so much we ordered the fries on its own!

Try the chef's version of such local favorites as poke (a raw fish dish made with an avocado wasabi sorbet and dashi foam) and loco moco (made with wagyu beef and hayashi gravy). Read more

So I've been here a lot while staying at The Modern. You can't go wrong. Surprisingly, this place has my favorite American breakfast (eggs cooked perfectly). Dinner: try the gyoza. Awesome Mai Tai.

Start with signature mai tai. Then the pork gyoza and beef carpaccio. Sashimi was fresh and delicious. I hope you run into the Chef!

This was the first time I ever had an omakase, and what an experience that was. The food here is top notch, and the vibe was very chic yet welcoming.

Joseph is a great waiter- friendly & knowledgable. The hamachi carpaccio is highly inventive, but not much food at all. The yellowtail pastrami is to die for. Try the buri bop entree- it hits the mark

The omakase is very good although I suspect you could save by ordering a la carte dishes and sharing as the a la carte dishes are bigger. Good selection if sake

This is a much better take on the loco moco. Wagyu beef instead of hamburger meat. Very tasty!

The Braised Black Cod is to die for. Also ordered market oysters and the chef's sashimi selection. Marimoto's is seafood heaven.

Morimoto's (of Iron Chef Morimoto fame) has just opened in Honolulu. Had an amazingly memorable meal there. Try the oyster foie cold appetizer, toro tartare, and the black cod. So good!

Ask the waiter to move your table settings out to the pool area with candles.... Dinner and drinks for two will cost you a small fortune and a 20% tip is no bother to them to cater to your every whim

Order the Haupia semifreddo, as recommended by Daniel Skurnick executive pastry chef at Morimoto's. It's a plate of haupia ice cream between two crisp matcha wafers. Featured in our Restaurant Guide!

If you don't have a dinner reservation, just sit in the outdoor lounge! You can order from the full menu and it's sooo relaxing with chillin' tunes, candlelight & firepit.

Order the pineapple tempura. It's wrapped in jamon iberico, the Spanish equivalent of prosciutto. The less salty, subtle flavor compliments the sweetness of the Hawaiian pineapple.

Also- their specialty cocktails are wonderful- I had some delish pineapple concoction and loved every sip. My mom had the lobster dinner and she thought it was the best she's ever tasted.

There's the omakase. And the Japanese breakfast. And the Loco Moto. And the yose dofu. This menu is so extensive and the best fusion I've had in a while.
