Amazing bbq with a solid Texas beer selection. Simple and delicious. Brisketburnt ends, jalapeno sausage, habanerogarlicmac and cheese... What's not to like?
The most amazing brisket and beef ribs. Just an FYI two ribs equals 1/2 lbs and 1lbs of brisket is enough for 2 people. Also the BBQ beans and Mac and cheese is amazing! A must go place for anyone
Impressive BBQ at an affordable price. Get the jalapeño sausage, brisket and ribs in that order. Load up on pickles and BBQ sauce and make sure to get extra white bread too
Brisket was bomb. Ribs are good too. The potato salad was delicious. Spicyonions and pickles too good. The only thing was he sauce, kinda ketchupy but edible.
Do not miss out on the Smokehouse Deviled Eggs. Finely chopped brisket mixed into the deviled egg stuffing with Sriracha and smoked paprika to add a kick!
My favorite smokehouse in town. Delicious (specially the brisket) limited meat is cooked every day (plan to arrive early). Great brews and housemadeBBQ sauce, pickles and pickled onions!
The brisket is more than worth the likely heart attack it'll bring. Best barbecue I've ever had. Get lots of sides because you'll need the lids in lieu of plates, which they don't provide.
Thrillist Top BBQ List: ...their amazing jalapeño cheesesausages. And some of the best brisket (and its beefier, leaner cousin shoulder clod) coming out of that Bewley smoker.
Lockhart is certainly a worthy locale to which one would seek to pay homage, and this place gets it basically perfect. Easily some of the best brisket in the Plex. Also habanero Mac n cheese. But $$$$
Have I left a tip here? Oh well... Meat. Delicious meat. HabanerobaconMac and cheese ain't playing. Put it in your mouth... Don't cry. The cooler is mine! Hands off.
Get in line early because once they sell out, they're out! They start serving at 6 pm, but you can grab a drink and get in line before 6. Loved the pork ribs!
One of the best spots in town to grab a cold beer and watch a Rangers game--because it'll take you the length of one to finish your meal. [Eater 38 Member]
Ok let's see....the brisket is AMAZING, the baby back rib TO DIE FOR, the Lockhart cole slaw DELICIOUS, the potato salad YUMMY and the habanero Mac 'n Cheese (beware) SPICY!!
We waited about 20-25 minutes in line before getting to the counter. Do the rest of the line a favor and know what you are going to order. Food is good, very flavorful and smokey.
Burnt ends from the Brisket, drool. The mac & cheese, the sausage, the BBQjam; it goes on and on. Menu changes up somewhat daily as to whats available - or - whatever Will feels like making. #beard
The slaw. Lockhart has some fancier cole slaws, including a bleu cheese-based one, but the buried sriracha, paprika and cayenne in their titular one elevates it past just cabbage and mayo.
Fantastic 'cue done the Central Texas way (no sauce. Expertly smoked). Great atmosphere. Brisket is to die for. Even chicken is good. Super cool owners in Jill & Jeff. Amazing beard on premises.
Brisket Deviled Eggs. Lockhart pumps up the flavor and plays with the texture by incorporating bits of brisket into the mix. These little things are addictive.
While the smokehouse hasn't yet mastered ribs or chicken, there's perhaps no better place in Dallas to observe the "no sauce, no forks" dictum and attack smoked beef bare-handed. Read more
The meat was tough and the sausage, though reasonably tasty, was impossible to cut with the plastic cutlery. The potato salad was a very odd recipe that was not compatible with barbeque.
