An institution. Oldest restaurant on Miami Beach. The original Stone Crab supplier. Don't like Stonecrabs? Have the liver and onions or the fried chicken. you'll thank me.
The best value are the large stone crabs hands down. Every time I come I always make the mistake of getting the selects. Now it's officially on FS So no one will make the same mistake
Stone crabs are good no doubt but still seemed overpriced for what they are. And the clams casino is made with dinky little clams. Nothing was bad by any means but wasn’t overly impressed
Food blogger Deborah of DeborahShane.com recommends Joe's Stone Crab. "My favorites include baked clams, Alaskan crab claws with secret mustard sauce, Joe’s famous slaw, and, of course, Key lime pie."
So many things to recommend apart from the obvious stone crabs.... turkeymeatballs, Turkey burger, fried green tomatoes ....chili is also amazing. Eat up and enjoy :)
If you enjoy food (and wine) as much as I do, you need to ask your waiter to take his time. Order your main after your appetizer is over, then you'll know you won't receive everything simultaneously.
Go for lunch, sit on the outdoor patio and order the lunch special which comes with stone crab claws, hash browns, creamed spinach, coleslaw and key lime pie!
Fried Chicken...yummy and I think the cheapest item on the dinner menu!?!? Go surf n turf with the crab n chicken to leave your wallet as happy as you belly!
Old school service: aww I loved it. It's a place worth trying. It's good but I find it overpriced (due to tourist custom) for stone crabs, especially considering we're by the shore.
You absolutely must get the fried chicken. A hidden gem. The stone crabs are great too, but you already know that. If u want to skip the line, grease the maitre'd a $50 (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
The shrimp cocktail, sweeter and plumper than most you can score in the U.S., rim a chalice filled with a house-made sauce. Order the jumbo claws if they're in season and larges any other time.
Craving some succulent seafood? Head to Joe’s for its seasonal stone crab and other seafood specialties and sweet key lime pie. Just put on a bib and dig in.
I love crab meat and Joe's has gigantic crab claws, crazy..They also every other kind of seafood you could want Word to the wise Joe's closes on August 5 and reopens October 1
No reservations but that doesn't keep people from waiting around for a table. Go for their signature stone crabs and sides of hash browns and creamed spinach. Key Lime Pie is a great ending.
Fantastic service; worth the wait and the cost! The sweet potato fries are especially delicious. Make sure to say hi to Bones at the door; he impressively remembers your name even after your meal!
South Beach staple. If you can't get a dinnerreservation. Swing by during the day and pick up food to go from Joe's Take-away which is connected to the restaurant.
The wait is long, but the food is worth it at this South Beachseafood institution that's been open since 1913. Their crab sizes range from Small to Jumbo and are a must-try.
Amazing food and great service. A South Beach classic that should not be missed. Splurge for the stone crab and try a mojito. You won't be disappointed.
Try the take away if you don't want to wait hours to sit in the restaurant. Tables are available for you to sit at too. The food is the same as the restaurant.
come here seasonly for the stone crabs, especially the jumbo claws. Dip 'em in the signature mustard sauce and wash it all off with a fresh bottle of Chardonnay. -HTM
