Love happy hour here. $7 for a dozen oysters at the bar from 2:30-5:30. $2 dom beer and $3 well drinks. Can't be beat!! We tried lots of places, this is one of the best! !
Combo platter of true sea food! So much food!!! Ate half of that..comes with one side - for ex. rice, potato etc. and soup or salad. I've tried crab She soup - yummy!
The Salmon was small and the calamari I was disappointed in. Left a really bad after taste in my mouth. First time there & not in hurry to go back. They do have the 1st hush puppies I have ever liked.
Absolutely love the winter time all you can eatCrab Legs! Great place for fried seafood too. I'm a local and love it! Just because a place is busy is no reason to label them a tourist trap.
We were made to feel very welcome. A mixup with our order was promptly fixed without fuss. The shrimp and grits was very good. The Amberjack was alright. The sides were flat and disappointing.
Overhyped. I'm not sure why it's rated so well, salad was average and crabcakes were good but nuthin to rave home about, hushpuppies good but not my thing. Friendly place, but again, not a must visit.
Large portions of good seafood served by great, hospitable folks. Here's one of those situations where the service as often even better than the food. Worth the money. Best with friends or family
Wadamalaw Delight, Carolina Delight great appetizers! You won't be disappointed if you like grits and cheese. Boom Boom Shrimp delicious. Fried and stuffed flounder worth it.
Called today for reservations was told sis not need them. Traveled across town on bus to be told one hour wait. Would not have time to have dinner. Will never try to have dinner here again!!!
Great restaurant and super friendly staff throughout shop and restaurant! Must get the hush puppies, they are the best on the planet and fried green tomatoes are to die for as well :)
Great food, great service! I try to go there every time we make it down to Charleston. Talked with the owner while we were there. I recommend Hyman's to everyone who visits Charleston.
Very, very touristy.... Any local would tell u to stay away. While the hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had.... The rest of the menu was not up to par. I won't be going back.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, the food is mouthwatering. Try everything but don't leave without a hush puppy. Then check out the general store and get some ice cream.
Instead of waiting on the sidewalk for your table at Hyman's, grab a glass of wine and sip it on the sofa at the friendly Gaslight Wine and Art Gallery next door! Great folks.
We waited for 25 minutes but the service was great. AMAZING crab dip & complementary calamari if you show your hotel room key! The Cajun Mayo is also delish. Anything with shrimp is recommended!
Exemplary service! The owner sent out complimentary apps. Carolina Delight, crab cakes, Caribbean jerk salmon, fried green tomatoes and a pint of Palmetto Amber... all incredible!
Call and ask how long the wait is. They'll tell you it's a half an hour. Get there and put your name in and they'll tell you it's an hour. Wait an hour and they'll tell you it's another half an hour.
This is the best seafood you are going to get in Charleston and the restaurant has a nice environment. Where your sicker for a chance to win a free meal!!
Voted the Best Seafood Restaurant in the Southeast by Southern Living Magazine 9 years in a row. Hyman's is as much a part of Charleston as Charleston is a part of Hyman's. It's a fun family dining experience not to be missed when visiting Charleston.
