Historic, special hotel. A tad pretentious, but gorgeous. A+ food and Aesop toiletries. It was too snowy when I stayed, but guests get access to the actual Grammercy Park (which is private).

Super old and dilapidated rooms, especially considering the rates. Sure the location is stellar, but with modern hotel amenities- shitty rooms, no restaurant, rude bar service? No thank you.
Your stay at the hotel isn't complete without a visit to nearby Gramercy Park; you'll need to request access in and out of the locked gate, but the reward more than compensates the effort.
