Rental cars are a complete ripoff here and often sold out. Not sure why, but this is the worst airport I've been to for car rentals.

Not a fan of going through huge X-ray machine or pat downs. They don't ask what medical issues you may have. Boo!
Allow significant extra time for connections that involve using the tram. Missed my flight because it was broken for 40 minutes while they "looked for a piece of string" to fix it. I'm not kidding.
The restrooms in terminal E are the best in this airport. The restrooms in terminal C are smaller and the toilets don't flush well at all. Avoid the restrooms in terminal B they are tiny and suck.
Never stay @ the Howard Johnson . Advertises free shuttle but fails to note only before 10 am or after 5pm. Clerk rude & refused to get manager to resolve issue.

Bill AllemonMarch 30, 2012Fly through Hobby Airport when coming to Houston. This airport is poorly laid out and very inefficient. Takes forever to get to the rental car facility.
Dont count on pre-check. Guy in front of me denied pre check cause "not guaranteed - still random screening"
Kara HuffstetlerMarch 31, 2013Terminal B is so gross, carpet is nasty and there is not anywhere to sit. People laying in the halls asleep also.
I agree with Ron M. Einstein Bagels is a good stop at IAH, but always inefficient and slow.
Do not eat at Terminal B... Unhealthy choices... Eat before you get here
