EvelienMay 11, 2018If you want a quiet place in the center of New York, go to the Excelsior Hotel! The staff is friendly and the food (we’ve only had breakfast every day) is delicious.
Amazing price and location. There is hardly any street noise because it's in a residential area. They use Tarocco toiletries so stock up from the maid cart!! Great NYC secret.
Extremely beautiful hotel nestled between the museums and central park offers an exceptional feeling of the posh upper west side lifestyle & the rooms are brand new modern & very upscale great service

Dave Sumner SmithJanuary 14, 2015Good location, quiet setting & pleasant dining area. But bath towels are tiny & everything costs extra: Breakfast. Wifi. Even water in the room (and don't even bother looking for a coffee machine!)
Great location near public transit. Once you get past the less than friendly front desk staff, the rest of the place is actually quite nice.

Andy's deli a block away across Columbus is the closest place to pick up a few snackies and drinks
Nice area. Much more quiet and calm compared to Times Square hotels.
Looking for good food nearby? Ditch Plains is a block away & sooooo good.
Jack GilsonMay 2, 2014I wouldn't bother staying here, an archaic relic trying to be five star but with a maximum of three. Most staff were rude and unhelpful. Everything costs extra, not the sign of decent hotel.
