A hidden gem only around the corner from where I work. It can get crowded for happy hour. You feel like you are in a lounge in NYC. There's also an outdoor patio!
Sit outside on the patio and order the Barrel Aged Island Old Fashioned. It's a savory rum cocktail that's very well balanced. This place is still definitely a hotel bar though.
The Old Fashioned relies on a nontraditional Old Fashioned spirit (Banks 5 IslandRum), swirled with velvet Falernum, allspice dram and angostura bitters.
Food and drink are solid, but ambiance and service feel like a second rate hotel bar. Definitely a downgrade IMHO from the classic that was the Fifth Floor Bar.
Skip this one! Sexy space w/ unique cocktails, but drinks are overpriced & staff is arrogant & disrespectful. Not worth it compared to all the other options in the city. Head to Bluestem instead.
