Get a table in the Hip-Hop room. Its always packed right and the DJ mixes the classics with the very new.
Get a table near the entrance to the booths (on DJ side of room), its prime location. It gets too crowded on the floor so stick by the railings. Oh, and don't leave your tab open.
This spot is very hit or miss. If you see a cowboy with a guitar DJing, leave ASAP. If you hear current Hip-Hop, stick around and it'll be a good time. Crowd skews towards late 20's early 30's
Don't spend too much time in the back room, stick towards the end of the main bar. Its where the best traffic is and you get some decent breathing room.
Leave and go to the original Gansevoort. Theres only one room in here thats ok and its still terrible.
Roof is very nice, but if you're trying to rip then you better get to the basement. Get right on the main level then head downstairs.
This place tends to have an older crowd but is a legit spot if you're pacing the night. Roof is overrated after 15min and the lounge area is a great place to camp out.
