This casualEthiopian restaurant is the best of its kind in the city, and it's open until at least midnight every day to boot. Get the vegetarian platter and/or lamb tibs. [Eater 38 Member]

I love my kitfo raw... however... desta serves kitfopasta that is really good IF the meat is cooked well done. (I've tried it both raw & cooked) also their fishpasta is also amazing & its a lot.
Friendlier service than you might get in DC. Ask the right questions and you’ll get the tibs & kitfo served properly. Otherwise, you’ll get good food in plates with forks. Alas

If you plan on coming on a weekend, Terry to make a reservation at 4 hours in advance. This place gets packed on the weekends quickly. Even if you have to wait, know that it's DEFINITELY worth it
For beginners I recommend the Chicken Tibs... ALWAYS ADD MISER & SHIRO TO YOUR MEAL... The Goden Tibs are sooooo good! The lamb tibs are tasty. The tiramisu cake is good but the portion us small.
The food is delicious. The menu has a lot going on and is somewhat confusing and disorganized. This is my first visit.I definitely plan on returning to try other dishes.
This place is really well executed: professional, good service, nice light & modern Ethiopian decor, plus the food is easily top 3 best ethiopian food I've had in N. America (coming from an Ethiopian)
