Go up Telegraph Hill along any road approach instead of climbing the Greenwich Steps. You'll be glad you did. Instead, use the Steps as a short cut to the wharves.
I think "coin tower" is a more appropriate name, since the best part is to check the coins left from all over the world. ;b the view there is amazing..
Nice to look at from afar, but going to the top is rather overrated. Go to Twin Peaks instead: Better view over the city, no entrance fees and no waiting queue.
So not worth going up the tower - long queues, and you can't even take a good picture up there, only through glass windows. Better enjoy the views from the hill.
