- Peter CucèAugust 23, 2017Some of the best Thai in NYC. Duck salad is incredible, spicy & herbaceous. Also: coconut soup w/ fish, turmeric sea bream, pork shoulder. Khao soi is well balanced.
- Jonas BlankOctober 20, 2017Legit Thai, maybe more adventurous menu that their “father” restaurant. If something says “spicy,” believe that. The “brutally spicy” item is a spiritual journey, to say the least. Duck salad too.
- All great: chicken skewers, duck laab, and khao soi, fried coconut milk cakes, green curry. I'd skip kua kling in favor of other, tastier dishes. BYOB for now, so come with beer or an acid heavy wine.
- AmateurConciergeMarch 24, 2019Authentic Thai, but for a place that requires u to show up at 5:30 pm for dinner, it’s not THAT good. Decent khao soy.
- Kim PhamOctober 13, 2019The pig’s tongue is lovely and the duck salad’s heat CREEPS up on you (but is damn tasty). My favourite thing on the menu is the curried rice with pork skin 🔥
- Best Thai restaurant in NYC. It’s a fight to get the dish you want coz the waiter would assume you are the average American who can’t handle flavors and try his best to talk you out of ordering it lol
- Foxxy BApril 23, 2018It is spicy (sometimes crazy spicy), but not to feign authenticity. Menu is casual yet WOW in its selection (fried coconut cakes, stingray soup, etc). Far more approachable vs Pok Pok or Uncle Boons.
- F. BastardJanuary 25, 2018I like this place but I can’t help feeling the spice level is turned to 11 as some kind of statement about authenticity. Duck laab inedibly hot. Kao Tod Nam Klook (rice salad) my fave dish.
- PeggyDecember 30, 2023Everything is spicy, but the spiciness level really varies — a mild spicy one time was much spicier than a medium spicy next visit!
- Brandon F.April 17, 2018As traditional as Thai food can get with its rich flavors and spiciness with the elegance of unique dishes you won’t find in a lot of Thai restaurants around the area.
- Amanda NogueiraAugust 25, 2018Don’t fool yourself thinking you can handle spicy food. This is another level, specially the green chicken curry. Ask for a salad, rice or cucumber as a side.
- Louis DavidApril 13, 2019Best KHAO SOI I had outside of Thailand, but beware, it is really really spicy! :)
- Marie RicherDecember 31, 2017Super spicy! Duck salad, pineapple mushroom curry and coconut taro cakes were so good. Friendly, helpful and fast service. 🔥🌶❤️👶🏻
- Trevor HillJune 16, 2019Incredible flavors that are incredibly spicy, come prepared. Wish I could've tried everything but loved the dishes we had: Khao Soi and the shrimp/squid
- Zucchini RoseJanuary 14, 2018Laab (duck salad), Kao Tod Nam Klook (curry rice), and Kang Kua Supparod (mushroom, pineapple 🍍 curry) all super delicious! Can’t wait to come back!
- Tucker SkyFebruary 9, 2018Michelin restaurant in the making. Get there before 630p to make sure you can get a table. Two words: sea bream!
- Stan TranJuly 17, 2018Truly authentic Northern Thai food. Get delivery or expect to wait. The spicy dishes are not for the faint of heart (but still delicious)!
- Micah ChilesMarch 5, 2018Fantastic, affordable Thai food. Must order the khao soi. The ‘brutally hot’ beef dish is no joke
- Ashley ChenDecember 4, 2017Live a little and try some fun stuff - sea bream and durian sticky rice. Nobody comes here for pad Thai.
- Honghui YuJanuary 12, 2018Delicious Thai food in a cozy setting. Most dishes are quite spicy though so you may need to load up on the Thai iced tea.
- Ryan AmbsSeptember 22, 2018You can tell by the location that they are not trying to make the food accessible but the spice level reaches almost that of novelty. The food is good but it is hard to finish a dish because of it.
- Suzy TranJanuary 19, 2020Khao soi & Kang Kanoon were very delicious. 🥵 food is spicy, by even southeast asian standards. Order the Thai ice tea... b/c you will freaking need it.
- Tarnima SabedDecember 13, 2017favorites were: fried turmeric sea bream, northern egg noodle curry soup with beef shank, southern style chicken thigh skewers
- Yoeun PenFebruary 25, 2019Authentic flavor hindered by unnecessary spiciness. I eat extra hot all day everyday, but Ugly Baby is too hot.
- Peter DiPrinzioNovember 25, 2018Almost all the dishes are medium to very spicy, but they are all delicious and unique. Service is fun and prompt
- Kathy LiuJanuary 13, 2018Intensely spicy duck salad- pair it with a much-needed Thai iced tea so you don’t lose your tongue.
- Liza FrybergerFebruary 24, 2018Spicy duck salad should not be missed. Melt-your-face delicious. Be sure to get a Thai iced tea to tame the fire!
- Kate FurmanJuly 18, 2018The grilled prawns and khao soi was DELICIOUS, order a thai iced tea to kill the burn.
- Jarel HillDecember 3, 2018Khao Soi, Kung Hoh, Kao Tod in that order. Everything was awesome and spicy. Not crazy spicy but u def feel it.
- Beth KDecember 30, 2018Duck salad, green curry, and red snapper broth fish- so good! Get ready for heat and layers of delicious flavor.
- Jesse LaneNovember 5, 2018The khao soi was a revelation. The duck salad is also outstanding. Really can’t go wrong here.
- Kao ko appetizer is to die for! Is it muffin? biscuit? Pure joy topped with sweet sauce, honey and cilantro?
- Miguel CutiongcoOctober 21, 2017Khao Soi is good but be warned it is VERY spicy 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶, Gae Golae skewers were perfect!
- Inna GNovember 18, 2018EVERYTHING is spicy even if the menu doesn’t mention it. If you are ok with your mouth on fire this is the place for you!
- Gideon OlshanskyNovember 30, 2018Great spot for spice lovers. Not only does the food kick, the flavors are fantastic.
- miles lennonMarch 18, 2018Super spicy but delicious. Ask the waiter to give you tips on level of spice. Assume medium is nuclear
- Cameron WDecember 29, 2019Amazing food. Spice level, heat, is high but delicious if you are up for it.
- Dan SohaydaMay 7, 2018There's spicy Thai food and then there's Ugly Baby. The level of spice is otherworldly. Our server tried to tell us to order different items, but could not adjust the heat level.
- Calvin LammersApril 21, 2019If you like spice, this is the place for you. Great food and awesome beer selection
- Gregory FisherNovember 4, 2018Food here is spicy, but not as good as other more affordable places in Elmhurst or Woodside
- Graham GnallNovember 13, 2017Duck salad, kua kling, khao soi. Hot! but manageable with a big group and byob.
- Weekend lunch is the move here. No wait. Easy peasy.
