- VisitBtownAugust 3, 2011Grab a table outside if you can... fish & chips, celtic stew, blarney puffballs - it's all amazing! I recommend the cider they've got on tap for these hot summer evenings.
- Bethanne BabbsMay 26, 2015Downstairs has a much better atomsphere, so if your party is all over 21, try to get seats down there. And of course, try the blarney puffballs, especially if you're a cheese lover!
- Btown LocalJune 28, 2011Try the cider on tap - it's a nice chance of pace and goes perfectly with Blarney Puffballs and Fish & Chips! Family-friendly dining is available upstairs.
- Cory BrownDecember 9, 2017The fish and chips were cooked perfectly and not heavily breaded. The coddle soup and soda bread was also very tasty
- Go to the Irish Lion and try the Celtic Stew. It's the best thing to warm you up during the cold Bloomington winters. Don't forget to add some Blarney Puffballs to your meal!
- The Celtic Stew is soooo good! Much like a beef pot roast but creamier and the lamb meat just melts in your mouth
- Molly W.March 28, 2013Best Leg of Lamb I've ever tasted and the potatoes were delicious! Celtic Stew was very flavorful with lots of lamb slices. Yum!
- Sarah FisherMarch 18, 2011Best atmosphere for a pint in town. Used to work in a British pub and this makes me feel right at home. Also usually has one British or Irish cider on tap!
- Erik HolmApril 25, 2013If you get soup, the soda bread that comes with is great. The building is from the 1880's. Get a Guinness, some grub, then head to Roy's.
- Love the Celtic Stew here. Great atmosphere. Occasionally the hostesses have been incredibly rude though.
- Wendi KetchemAugust 8, 2010The chicken cordon bleu is amazing. I love the salads and the blarney puff balls always make a great snack while drinking a Guiness.
- Puffballs are amazing! Great service every time we come
- David ElyeaJuly 14, 2012A beer connoisseur friend says he's only experienced 2 places that have better Guinness than The Lion.
- Great drinks, good food, and great service. A Bloomington staple!
- Tyrconnell whiskey--for the whiskey lovers and for those who need to be.

- Jen GrayOctober 16, 2012Don't live another day without a blarney puffball. And, bring me an order too ...
- Marshall MagaroMarch 18, 2010Worst food in Bloomington. Only frequent if you are going to tap in to the delicious collection of scotch whiskey.
