Really interesting dishes with fantastic flavor. The bread is delicious and the service is good. Only thing that was "off" was the location.

This is the most gorgeous food that I had in #Iceland. Traditional Icelandic recipes cooked by a New York chef it was impeccable. The Virginian bartender made an amazing lemonade and Birch snaps.

Modern Icelandic cuisine? Many have tried and none have succeeded, except for this wonderful restaurant. Catch of the day lunch is a steal. Herb soaked cocktails and deconstructed classics.

The lunch menu is completely different than the dinner. I was there at lunchtime and I did not get disappointed. The fishcakes were great, the "Icelandic taste" (5 mini appetizers) was interesting.

Arctic char preparation v good. Smoked trout excellent. Bread great. Halibut soup good in concept but broth was flavorless milk; Lamb leg +heart uninspired; white chocolate skyr dessert saccharine.

Cod Head lives up to the hype. Never had it before but what an ugly dish but had the theatrics and tasted great. The chef also visits afterwards to give you a “gift” from the head.

You have to try the lamb entrée it might've been the most tender and succulent piece of meat.

The à la carte is supplemented by great value ‘Icelandic Snacks’, along with various tasting menus at dinner

Delicious food, beautifully presented. Wonderful service. The cod croquette starter was completely delicious, as were the main courses. Highly recommended

Wonderful food and service. Traditional Icelandic food in a modern way. Gorgeous taste and look. Very affordable also compared to other restaurants.

Food and drinks - these guys keep it simple. Don't underestimate it though, it is worth a visit alone for the bread.

Wonderful food and presentation, but we experienced horrible service. Try the Cod Cheek.

You say "local cuisine", I say stay away. Except for this place. Modern takes on old school Icelandic favorites.
