Sassed is made of 100% Primitivo grapes from selected vineyards lying in calcareous stones soil, harvested the first week of September, with some of the berries having over-ripened on the vine and fermented in stainless steel tanks. This Cru has a strong personality and reflects the characteristic of its land. Today, it is one of the most internationally successful wines from Apulia. On the nose, it displays aromas of plums and red fruit jam. It is a full bodied wine, with notes of blackberries, backed ripe fruits and spices and soft tannins. This is an excellent, well balanced wine with a long finish.

The "ripasso" stage occurs for 15 days together with the Amarone skins before being stored in wooden barrels for 9 months, and with a further 4-6 months maturation in the bottle.
