Egg cream is fantastic, especially coffee or chocolate, which favors the proprietor does himself. Burger w/fried eggs, bacon & mushrooms can't be beat... as the atmosphere in this 100yr old joint...

Get the French toast with maple syrup – it's delicious. If you're with a friend split one serving so it doesn't go cold, you get a lot of food on your plate.

Continually operated by the same family (its last renovation was in 1948), it's a place to enjoy no-nonsense classics such as chopped egg or liverwurst sandwiches and the stellar ice cream fountain.

One the last spots in NYC to make coke with syrup (maybe the last). You want to try that although it might be very sweet for you. The French toast was surprisingly good.

Travel 100 years back in time. Iconic home to NYC’s best egg cream, serving breakfast & lunch all day. Opened by Albanian immigrant Soterios Philis in 1925, still operated by his descendants.

Greatest lemonade you will ever taste. Same goes for the club sandwich. Wonderful, nostalgic vibe, and the owner is very friendly if you strike up a conversation.

The eggs were phenomenal. By far and away the best diner eggs I’ve ever had. The secret, I think, is an absurd amount of butter.
