- Wendy ToupsOctober 5, 2012Great place to leave an animal if you want it to have a fighting chance. If the animal is healthy, friendly, and has a good temper then it will stay in their adoption chain until they find it a home.
- A lot has improved over the past year! Staff is super friendly and work really hard with volunteers to find animals forever homes. Don't expect a pet store atmosphere. Feel good about ADOPTing!Upvoted Aug 30
- XtineFebruary 14, 2013I've adopted both of my four legged family members from the HHS. I love this shelter & all of these wonderful animals need loving forever homes. DEF come here if you are looking to adopt!
- Sam McGowanDecember 16, 2014I can't believe these negative reviews! We've adopted three dogs from Houston Humane over the past 12 years (almost 13) and have nothing but praise for them.
- K RodJuly 13, 2014Adopted a puppy. They claimed he was 1yr but really outside vet said he's at least 2/3 yrs old.Chrgd me $like he was a puppy. My poor new puppy has a few issues. Now to see if they'll care for him.
- If you want a pet, there is no better place to find one than HHS ... they have a special "someone" for everyone ... I guarantee you won't leave alone!!
- David MartinezOctober 15, 2013Long wait people have been waiting since 9:30 in the morning and its 12:30 now. Oh man crazy crazy crazy.
- Terrible service! Treats the public inhumanely, AS IF they're providing FREE services, NOT! Employees/volunteers are rude & disrespectful, no mgr's are ever on duty, nor do they rtn your phone calls!
- E 🅱June 15, 2011Poor service. Dont expect any hospitality or professionalism. Get here early or your day is shot! Guess you get what you pay for. *shrug*
- Lauren AbramDecember 31, 2010If u drop off an animal they charge you at least $20! Then they wont let u know if they put it up for adoption! Service has definitely grown to be rude...
