My favorite local brews are made here. The food is worth the trip as well. Some of the best chowder in town.
Expensive, place to be seen, but the most un-Portland of places when you want to feel like you're somewhere else.

It is what it is: an OLD bar, est. in 1902. Don't let all the motorcycles hanging from the ceiling fool you, the service is consistently friendly and the drinks well made. People's prices too!
High on the fancy factor, as well as, well...height. The place to take an out of town guest to see the city. Spectacular at night. Great happy hour to boot.

It is the only bar where I've told the bartender to make me a drink without ordering anything specific. He asked me what kind of liquor I like and a few minutes later I was drinking gin perfection.

Fraternity boy crowd, but they have solid drinks, cool atmosphere and ping pong tables! The outside area is a great place on a sunny -or- rainy day.
