Cacao prieto is offering 2 rum based products crafted from organic cane sugar and organic dominican cacao. As with artisanal chocolate making, every organic cacao bean is hand roasted, cracked and winnowed. Distillation is followed by a period of aging in oak. The resulting products are truly unique, accurately capturing the aroma and flavor of organic dark roasted chocolate in a bottle for the first time. In the hands of a mixologist these products represent a brand new color palette for creating new masterpieces or revamping classics. At 40% ABV they can be utilized as a base spirit in cocktails or enjoyed neat, on the rocks or chilled.
Wonderfully complex and unique with bright notes of dark chocolate with supporting notes of toffee, vanilla bean, and toasted marshmallow with a hint of pepper. Tasting notes from astor wines: “a local, organic liqueur made from single origin heirloom cacao from 100yr old family owned plantations in the dominican republic. A harmonious nose of chocolate and sugar cane greet the nose and follow on the palate with a hint of sweetness and citrus. Very smooth, and an excellent digestif or addition to your best cocktails ”

Widow Jane Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey
Cacao prieto distillery is proud to announce the very limited release of an extraordinary 5 year bourbon whiskey. Only 1,500 bottles have been produced of the widow jane unfiltered 5 year old kentucky bourbon, and each bottle is hand labeled and hand numbered, creating a unique package. The water used to create this product comes from the widow jane mine in rosendale, new york. Rosendale limestone possesses an even higher ratio of beneficial minerals than that found in kentucky and its sparkling waters are as pure as its namesake, the widow jane. The greatest structures in new york are from the gargantuan caissons that allowed the brooklyn bridge to soar, to the statue of liberty’s 27,000 ton pedestal, to the empire state building itself are all held fast and strong by that rosendale stone.
Cocktails: Conquistador
Rub rim of cocktail glass with a fresh orange zest, then discard zest. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add cube ice, shake hard and strain into glass. Garnish with gold leaf flakes.

1/4 Grand Marnier

Muddle raspberries in cocktail shaker, add cacao prieto, ice, shake and strain into cordial or small cocktail glass. Garnish with raspberry.

Combine cacao prieto, faretti and ice, shake hard and strain into martini glass.
.5 Oz Faretti Biscotti Liqueur

Cocktails: The West Indain Old Fushored
Muddle orange slice with edel kirsch. Add cacao prieto, rye and ice cubes. Stir with spoon. Serve in rocks glass.
1 Oz Michter's Rye

1/4 Oz Edel-Kirsch
Cocktails: The Somiwicon
Combine ingredients with ice, shake hard, strain into cocktail glass. Pour through mesh strainer to remove floating ice chips.

.75 Oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
Cocktails: Pamo
Combine ingredients with ice, shake hard, strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with small orange zest.
