- Pierrepont FinchMay 12, 2011H2S's Ellen Harvey suggests eating at the West 79th Street Boat Basin Cafe. Not only can you watch the sunset as you dine, but you can bring your dog as well!
- DietsInReviewApril 6, 2011The perfect pit stop during a bike ride on the west side greenway. Stash your bike inside (no need to lock up) and grab a well-deserved burger.
- Lydia JungAugust 12, 2016The views and setting are the coolest part. The pina colada was pretty good too.
- SaleemMay 10, 2015Nice view, make sure you sit outside not in the busy hall. Margaritas were juice... 3x pitchers in and unsure of any booze in them
- Great spot to hang, relax and drink. I would not recommend any drink that requires more than 1 mixer or any food item other than burgers, dogs and fries.
- Katherine ReyesJune 24, 2010Great spot on the river, don't wait in line to sit in the middle circle (its a heating pot during the day) - wait to sit along the water. Plus, nothing is fried there!
- My favorite place for casual dinner or big groups especially at sunset. Order a bucket of Caronas and the bomb mahi mahi tacos!
- Daniel PowellSeptember 10, 2016Popular hang out for UWS folks - great outdoor space and lively crowd
- When you have a crowd and you want to hang and relax the Boat Basin Cafe at 79 Th St andThe Hudson is where to come!
- Bring your pup... They will give you treats and water bowls with fresh water
- Carla DianaApril 15, 2011Nice and toasty heaters in doors when the weather is nippy. And if you get a good table, you'll still have a nice view of the river.
- Village VoiceMay 31, 2012Enjoy the views of the Hudson from the cafe's outdoor area, which overlooks the boat basin.
- Tim RAugust 6, 2014Blue point mosaic beer is a good IPA. The cheaper boat house beer was nice but a bit weak and watery for my taste.
- Jastine KhoJuly 25, 2015Don't come here for the food. Come here for the view. But if you must eat, get the Spicy Turkey Burger.
- NYC ParksMay 21, 2010Cool off with the breeze of the Hudson River – and take in the stunning view – with traditional pub fare and drinks during happy hour on weekdays from 4pm to 7pm.
- Ben RAugust 7, 2014The burgers come with chips instead of fries. Unconscionable. It's a scene, but I prefer Pier 70 ten blocks south.
- Mike CMay 2, 2014Spent over $500 here with a group of friends from for happy hour from 5-7pm then were told we couldn't stand near our tables and were removed. message received customers you aren't appreciated
- Beers with a view. Kale and endive salad surprisingly good.
- Emilie FuttermanApril 17, 2015There are better bars on the water, but the $8 margs are potent and the sunset is beautiful
- T BApril 3, 2010You can only sit in the outdoor areas if everyone orders food, but even from inside, great place for afternoon beers and views of the Hudson!
- your entertainment guidesFebruary 24, 2011Is it summer yet? Boat Basin is the cherry on top of summer Fridays. Try the Huckleberry Lemonade, perfection in a solo cup.
- Bring your dog. If it's friendly and loves people and dog treats
- Order the onion rings, they're crispy, tasty and they hit the spot!!!
- Stephen ThomasSeptember 1, 2013Admire the use of space under an overpass, but not that everything is served in disposable plastic packaging. There's no excuse for such a disgusting amount of waste at a sit down venue. Boycotting.
