- PaddyMarch 19, 2016Perfect dive bar that represents everything I love about the East Village. Mix of local, national and international beers and decent whiskey selection. Great atmosphere and great place to drink.
- This may be the best "Christmas-Time Bar" you'll find downtown. Get here in early December for your best chance at getting to write your name (or draw something PG13) on the fake-frosted windows.
- Lots of tv's, great bloody marys and buck hunter/pinball. Friendly staff, chill vibe and all around great neighborhood dive. You can even order food in, no problem.Upvoted Sep 15
- Fodor's TravelAugust 24, 2017This old-school, major-dive bar—where PBR is de rigueur—appeared in The Godfather: Part II (1974), as the backdrop for a gunfight. Happy-hour specials and daytime hours make this a neighborhood spot. Read more
- A great authentic American bar. Only serves beverages, almost never crowded, average priced beer, sports tvs all around. Also, it's the bar owned by Luke Cage on Jessica Jones s01.
- What movie/tv show is this bar NOT in? Seriously, it's in Jessica Jones, Rent, Crocodile Dundee, the list goes on! Plus it has a fun atmosphere and great drinks!
- Eric CNovember 1, 201528 years ago I met the mother of my children at the oldest horseshoe bar in Manhattan. This place is still a fixture in the east village. Love it.
- Uber NYCMarch 28, 2013An East Village institution, you'll often see film shoots at this bar. Lots of inexpensive beers, but you can also class up with your evening with some champagne. A dive bar with Dom P. :)
- DaniellaDecember 25, 2012This is one of my favorites. I live not too far away and I have showed all my buddies this place and they adore it as much as I do. Pretty cheap, great atmosphere and hipster free. High five!
- lOYDA pAGANNovember 29, 2015Everything! Bloody Marys (a whopping 16 ozs.) contain, of all things, pickles! As well as everything else... Watch the games in an extremely chill vibe.
- Devin QuinnAugust 23, 2012Great cozy spot in the winter to warm up with cheap hooch and handsome clientele. Also filmed a few episodes of Rescue Me here. If Leary's in, im in.
- A solid bar with everything ranging from $4 beers to Cristal. Games in back. Always a good time.
- Apex TacoMay 31, 2014A bar. I didn't find anything too special, besides the people I got to chill with. Had a few beers, they have some arcades in back and TVs everywhere. Not a bad spot to catch a game or two.
- amNewYorkMay 5, 2013Also known as 7B for its location on Seventh Street and Avenue B. Standouts: the U-shaped bar , the old-time photo booth, the arcade games and the jukebox.
- Village VoiceMarch 28, 2013If you’re lookin to get started early, Horseshoe Bar starts serving their signature Bloody Mary at noon, or go for a “Dude” shot – Mountain Dew flavored vodka.
- Men's Health MagNovember 10, 2011If you have the energy to close out a night right, this is the place to do it. They filmed some of Crocodile Dundee and Godfather II here, to give you a sense of its grand tattered quality.
- Crazy cozy little bar. It's the kind of spot that makes you wish you lived in the neighborhood.
- If you're lucky, then you will find many credits on the Golden Tee game. Use them. Beat my scores, if you can!
- Jason DennyApril 8, 2016This place is an East Vill institution. So many good beers! So many good people!
- Katie HughesDecember 8, 2013Cool chilled bar. Order in from any take out in l the area. Great idea, wish more bars were like this

- J Geoff Malta 🍸April 28, 2017In The Godfather Part II, where "Michael Corleone says hello!" Also used in Serpico, Sex and the City, Rent, and many, many other movies and TV shows.
- Hottest water in the city. If you're cold, go to the girls' bathroom to get your hands scalded.
- Sit in the booths in the back and get access to the bar
