Really friendly staff. Old school country and Cajun music playing with everyone singing along. Food was good for the price. Recommend trying it for lunch. Bar atmosphere.
The men's and women's bathrooms housed in this tiny restaurant/jazz lounge are a genuine breathe of fresh air from the usual water closets that would be ideal for horror film scenes.
We have driven to New Orleans several times. This is way quicker if you already live in Dallas. Oh, the fried ball things are a bit delightful if you are famished.
The atmosphere was great! The wait staff was very helpful but the menu and specialty drink menu didn't contain enough info about the items. I ordered the Cajun pasta and it was delicious!
The atmosphere is lively and original. They don't play up the whole swamp, crocodile and Cajun music angle. It's simply a jazzbar with food inspired by southern Louisiana.
Try muffalata -- chopped olives, salami, ham, provolone and smoked mozzarella. The delicious side of sweet-potato fries are seasoned with salt, pepper, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
I really enjoyed the boudin balls. The gumbo was flavorful, however I didn't like the fact that they added what seemed like hot dogsausage to it. The hot chicken sandwich was good, but wasn't great.
