Swindon Railway Station (SWI)

Best thing about Swindon station, is that it allows you to get away from Swindon.

There's a "sensory garden" which basically means a fenced off area with a couple of benches and some dead plants and a dog bowl. It didn't look likely to evoke any sense of pleasure!

A solitary sign pointing east in the town centre is not enough to guide an out of towner to the main car park.

Good station. Clean & Tidy good selection of coffees. 4 coffee shops to choose from.

New front to the STN looks good but lousy for being dropped off, upper crust coffee shop between platforms 1 & 3 the coffee isn't great and £4+ for a roll a bit pricey there's a Costa out front of STN

Watch out for last minute platform changes - sometimes even the staff get caught out when the train comes into an unexpected platform!

Platform 2 is a trek! If your train is leaving from there get there early as its a fair distance.

Make sure you're standing at the right end of platform so don't have a mad dash to the right bit!

Outlook mall is good and so is railway museum. Town centre is meh

Gloucester train is always hiding top end of platform and always a tiny one so load with drinks before getting on...

Make sure your phone charger will fit in the wall plug on the train!

No garbage bins here for security reasons. Keep that in mind when you grab anything eat on the run.

Don't leave the station, just get on a train away from Swindon.

Bike racks on the platform - secure, simple. Genius!

New Costa Coffee just opened outside front of station. Usual Costa fare, but much better than the Upper Crust stuff on offer inside the station!

At Swindon station, catch a train. Doesn't matter where to, just catch any train to anywhere that's not Swindon.

Always have your wits about you as the platforms get changed at the last minute.

Going for RCUK? Use the bridge from platform 3/4!

Try the sensory garden at the end of platform 2

Have no intention of getting off here and probably never will.

Swindon station is the epitome of Swindon. Bland, dated and with no future. Urzzz
