The relatively short hike up to the summit was well worth the prize. The views from the top are simply amazing. Best place I've been to in ATL so far. Breath taking sunsets.

The hike is worth it! It’s about a mile to the top and there are plenty of shady places to stop to rest.

The view of course. Lots of people but skylift moves quickly and there is plenty of space to enjoy your time.

It's quite the accomplishment to make it to the top but wear shoes with good grip. Flats, sandals, anything other than athletic shoes or hiking boots is a bad idea.

I went up while it was raining. Special treat: A river down Stone Mountain. Wear proper shell clothing and keen river shoes. Be careful. The empty mountain is worth it. All Yours!

Be sure to bring at least a windbreaker! Windy and cooler at the top. Ohh... and don't buy the $3.50 drinks at the gift store! LOL

Take your own trail mix or snacks for the summit. A Camelback definitely helps.

Walk up the steep rock trail to the top of Stn Mountain. It's an Atlanta tradition. I like sitting near the north face overlooking the lake.

There's a small shop at the top with food and drinks but it's very expensive with nothing more than stuff like chips and cookies.
