if you're wondering so many monkeys: Joseph Prentice donated land for the zoo with the stipulation that the city must keep at least 50 monkeys at all times. Our other favs: the camels & the anteaters.

I had a great time with the Orange County Labor Federation despite the heat. The critters at the zoo were coping well with the heat. This Bald Eagle seems to have found a cool spot to perch.

Be sure to say "hello" to the blue and gold macaws near the primates. They'll respond with a greeting or two.

Really small zoo that is ok for young kids. Nice amusement section, but the train ride is a little lame for the wait.

If you arrive early enough, you can catch the White-Handed Gibbons being very noisy and climbing around.

Bring cash! $3.54 add on to Admission price if you use a debit/credit card. City of Santa Ana is taxing zoo patrons this way.
