if you come by small group go with tahoe queen, but if you come with a group of friends rent a yacht boat drive out to the island and swim there its beautiful! more privacy less crowded!

Be careful driving through here during the winter months. Assholes from the Bay Area drive like psychopaths. The speeds are posted for a REASON. Doing 20 over is dangerous ANYWHERE.

once you hike down the trail, there are paths that take you around the lake so it's never too crowded and you have your own space.

Used to come here a lot when we were kids - spent every Thanksgiving here for years! Loved it then and love it now.
