You’ll think this is a lot of stairs, my phone recorded it as 10 flights of stairs, but that’s nothing compared to Lion Rock that came in at 39 flights! Both well worth the exercise! 🏋️‍♀️

An amazing site, that you have to see, but be warned, there’s stairs... a really lot of stairs. And no Starbucks or Häagen-Dazs at the top! 🥵

A short but easy hike. A bit high in price for the ticket: 1500 LKR per person but totally worth it. Each cave has a lot of different images of Buddha. Lots of Buddhists gathering and some tourists.

Really a must see if you’re anywhere in Sri Lanka. Totally amazing artistry and the amount of work put into this place is unfathomable.

This complex of caves harbours a beautiful collection of frescoes and statues depicting Buddha. Well worth the climb up some treacherous, slippery stairs. Make sure you cover legs and shoulders.

Read up on each of the caves before you go so you know what to look for. You have to remove your shoes, and the cement can be hot, especially midday, so sensitive feet may need socks.

Totally worth it. Short walk up to temples glorifying Buddha with lots of wall paintings/statues built by various Kings; the first one carved out of the mountain 2,000 years ago. A Sri Lanka top ten!

An amazing workmanship and a very spritual place. Monkes running around is fun to watch (be carefull if you have food with you), only thing was taking off the shoes on a rainy day.

Easily accessible but be prepared 2sweat. Hide ur shoes before reaching the entrance, else they will make u leave them there for 25rp. The caves themselves were worth visiting but no more than 30mins

When going up to the caves beware of evil monkeys! They want to take you bag because they think there's foos in it. They litterally attack you, so be prepares to wave a stick at them!

Don't forget to buy the tickets at the bottom (Golden temple), if you climb up to the caves without them, you'll have to go down again.

They just introduce a big fee for entering in the temple. They also ask for money for taking care of your shoes. I thought that Budha was against money:)

Underwhelming and uninteresting roadside temple. The giant golden Buddha is worth its weight in kitsch, however! 🤦🏾‍♂️

Meh! I mean it's nice, but nothing special. And keep on mind that you need to put your shoes off and the ground burns as hell. Better to come in the morning.
