A great atmosphere and interior. Good location, never solidly rammed at night. Limited but tasty range of vegetarian options, can't go wrong with the pie and mash.
New sharing special this week: 650g grass-fed fore rib steak, aged for 28 days & served with tarragon hollandaise. The star of our 3 course #ValentinesDay set menu for £35 per person
I was skeptical when looking at the menu, but was well-surprised to taste what I ordered. The food was delicious, with some interesting combinations. The menu is seasonal, so will go back again!
The Sunday roast I just had was amazing. Melting roasties, beautiful crisp Yorkshire and the beef was rare but tender. Shame they had run out of tomato juice so no Bloody Mary.
Careful of ordering a roast at end of day as you are likely to get microwaved-esque style meat and veg that are so hard they break your teeth; however, keen staff will change your meal with a smile.
Classic British food; unpretentious, well made and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the quality varies dramatically from branch to branch so don't expect the same experience everywhere.
Tasty pies, but service a little cold and distant. If you haven't booked, be warned, waiters will try and seat you at the table separate to the main restaurant. Ask to be seated elsewhere!
