Family-owned since 1906, this maker of handmade mochi and manju still has it going on. The strawberry manju is our favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything here. Read more

An unassuming 100+ year old landmark in Japantown makes the best fresh mochi in the bay. When I'm craving sugar and carbs, their peanut butter mochi hits the spot. - Mia, Digital Marketing Coordinator

Authentic Japanese store still family owned and operated. Fun to try a variety: habutai white mochi with red bean, peanut butter mochi, and strawberry mochi.

Homemade vs. pre-packaged? Yes please! Grew up with kinako over my mochi so this is my fave. I short-ordered for a container—got a bit of a cranky question thrown at me, so watch how many you order.

Love this place! Been coming here since a kid. Sadly the owners' kids not interested in taking over the family business

FYI: the strawberry moshi are seasonal. When they ARE in season, they're usually only available on Fridays and Saturdays. (they're worth the hassle tho)

The peanut butter mochi is best eaten cold. It's kind of sloppy warm. My favorite was the strawberry, which has fresh strawberries!
