You've got to look hard to find the gems amongst all the junk. There are stalls upon stalls of touristy made-in-China crap but also a number of great local, unique items if you look for them.
Give yourself time to make at least two full circuits of the booths. You'll see new stuff along with multiple prices on repeating items, so it's worth shopping thoroughly.
Great place to get souvenirs. However, I bought a Hawaiian shirt and after washing it the material fell apart so use caution as to what you buy. My son bought a backpack and it's so sturdy. Def worth
Cash is king, but some vendors do take credit cards via Square. There are some artistvendors as well, glass, ceramics, photography, lettering, etc..It's the NEW International Market Place! Old one RIP.
Nice place to get native Hawaiian clothes, accessories and tourist items at an affordable price....also great selection of fruit.....have to go at least once
Weds, Sat & Sunday. 6:30-3pm. every week! (Some vendors don't get set-up till 8am though as it is a lottery system for stalls) Vendors must draw for lots, so locations may vary.
When you get to the peanut butterbooth (made with macadamian nuts) buy you favorites right away. He sells out of the most popular flavors in the morning.
Bring cash for purchases. Very few vendors accept credit/debit. Also, wear sunscreen and a hat--it gets HOT out there. If you like coconut, get a fresh, green, young coconut to drink from!
This is not a "one man's treasure is another's junk" flea market. It's a repetitive souvenir trap with DELISH treats (sweet bread, fresh pineapple and slurping fresh coconut milk from a straw).
