    旧戸定邸があったこの場所は下総台地西端の江戸川を見下ろす舌状台地で、かつては松戸城 (松渡城) が建っていた。築城年代は不明だが、15～16 世紀には小金城を築いた高城氏の一族が入っていたと伝わる。
