Union Market is a diamond in the rough in Northeast DC. A variety of artisan food and craft vendors, my favorite being Takorean, serving Korean-style tacos. A great place to spend an afternoon.
I love me some Union Market. It's around the block from my house which is uberly convenient. I love the ice cream shop. The best ice cream around. The Korean Taco shop is awesome as well.
TaKorean and DC Dosa are solid. For sure grab a sweet nibble from CoCo Sala and a container of chickpeachorizosalad from the charcuterie/sandwich spot in the back left corner of the market.
It's far from central DC, but has ample free parking. There isn't a ton of seating if you visit one of the smaller stalls versus one of the bigger "restaurants". Great place to hang out and chill.
Amazing selection of food, drinks, gifts, and so much more. Week days are much more quiet than weekends. There is something for everyone! Don't forget to post your 'so cute' pictures to instagram.
Empanadas, arepas, dosa, ice cream, Korean tacos -- thats just what I was able to try. Wonderful farm to table recipes and a great location for either a date or to bring your friends. 💛💛💛
Go hungry! So much great food and drink to try in this place! Plus there is lots of parking, so don't be scared away by what appears to be big crowds on the surrounding streets.
HVig some delish oysters, white wine, and decidig what to follow up with. Some gravlox, more wine... you know, the "youjh". A good way to unwind after an awesome vip tour of the Capitol Building!
Everything was delicious. Ate at the locally grown and sustained BidwellRestaurant (select veggies grown on the roof) and bought some items from a black owned raw vegan vendor, Goshen
Union Market, a year-round communal market, provides fresh produce, freshly squeeze juices and smoothies, and freshly prepared cultural delights to locals and tourists in the Washington DC area.
This patio has all the makings of perfection. If you buy libations from Suburbia, you can sit at their designated tables. Otherwise, help yourself to the unreserved tables in the common area. Read more
It's hard to go wrong with any of the constantly changing options here. DC Empanadas, Red Apron, Mason Dixie, Maketto, and the BBQ Joint are some of my favorites.
"Grab a glass of punch and a knish ($7) during happy hour at Buffalo & Bergen, Gina Chersevani’s Brooklyn-inspired soda fountain inside Union Market (Tuesday-Friday, 4-7 p.m.)."-via Daily Candy
The smoked hummus at Neopol is maddeningly good and completely genius. Also keep an eye out for smoked olives and some fantastic varieties of smoked fish. This is happy food.
A hipster place. What I liked about this place is that it is hard of hearing friendly, it is very common to see people using sign language.. The food is good
Skip the Truckeroo line, there's no line to Takorean here! Also, walk around and sample from all the vendors. Don't sit down and tie yourself to one place for food.
Artisanal,year-round food market,the culinary epicenter of DC;sparking a more vibrant district attracting DC’s culinary,entrepreneurial & artistic innovators.
