15.00
Date: Thu 07.09. I'm Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine) Tour Jen Kirkman is a stand-up comedian and the author of the book, I Can Barely Take Care of Myself, which became an instant New York Times Bestseller in April 2013. Her debut Netflix Original Comedy Special I'm Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine) is available May 2015 for streaming on Netflix worldwide. Jen has released two stand-up albums Hail to the Freaks (released March 2011) which hit #13 on the Billboard Charts. Her debut album was 2006's Self Help. Entertainment Weekly said , "If you like Louis CK, check out Jen Kirkman's hyper self-analytical humor." Jen has a weekly podcast, I Seem Fun: The Diary of Jen Kirkman, which is often in the top 100 in comedy on iTunes. She is currently working on her second book to come out through Simon & Schuster in early 2016. Jen tours the world as a stand-up and recently toured Australia to sold out crowds in both Melbourne and Sydney. She is currently based in Los Angeles. You've also seen Jen on her regular appearances on Comedy Central's @midnight. Whether she's dissecting a negative iTunes review from an angry Christian or seriously considering a class action suit against Robin Thicke for being gross, Kirkman is eternally embattled but she tempers her cynicism with sweetness and, more often than not, she's right." Honeyhoney
15.00
Date: Fri 07.17. w. Eric Pettit Lion: Perhaps sometime in the early 90's Ben Jaffe and Suzanne Santo passed each other on a turnpike or east coast beltway in transit on a family road trip getaway. Perhaps their families stopped at the same Maryland welcome center and 9 year old Ben and Suzanne stared at the same bag of cheezits in a vending machine, turned to each other and said "Hey homey, let's meet up in Los Angeles in ten years and start a folk band that will turn into a folk rock band that will turn into a full throttle rock all the way band." Either way, the coalescence of HONEYHONEY has been nothing short of a predetermined soul contract among two alien hybrids that came here to spread sweet jams, inappropriate stage banter and insightful beliefs and thoughts via the clubs, festivals, theaters, internets, and Joe Rogan podcasts of the world. It may be the future. But, it is certainly a place where you feel younger, better looking, and you dance until you are soaked in sweat. A place where you know the best bands before your older brother and all the cool kids at school. The quartet's guitar-driven songwriting and distinct harmonies produce a sound that is both raw and relaxed, rough and humble. Formed to score a friend's film in the summer of 2013, the foursomemade up of Alex Otake, James Weir, Jason Balla and Mikey Wellsrecognized the electricity between its four members and chose to continue making music. Since then, the foursome has toured the Midwest and East Coast, building a reputation as a promising young American band. Time: 9:00pm. Admission: $10.

The Holy Broke
8.00
Date: Thu 07.02. w. The Bratlanders, TBD "The Holy Broke (Spokane, WA) , ambiguous name for the growling solo work of Kent Ueland, encapsulates his dark, messy music and all its jagged shards. You won't find stained glass tributes to lost loves or idle words about a better life in his lyrics. No, Ueland is the busted and bitter. Equal parts the man sunken into his couch and the snarling boy smiling through his bleeding upper lip, the classic country riffs carry Ueland's vocals through a debauched journey into heartache. The relatable simplicity of struggling to pay rent, eat a decent meal, or even get out of bed give his songwriting a surprising power. There lies the ambiguity. Has something holy been broken? Is it a form of holiness to be broke? Is there no such thing as the concept, "holy," to begin with? Look for the forthcoming album Do It Yourself this winter, listen to it when you're down on your luck, listen to it to celebrate not being there, but most of all listen. An injured dog is howling." Monk Parker
8.00
Date: Sun 07.12. W. tbd, tbd "venomously confessional... one of the most voyeuristic and tragic musical projects in recent memory. Parker has shaved his observations on failed romance into lyrics so concise, they're reach haiku-like proportions of succinctness, & he delivers them in one of the most perfectly lilting vocal styles that I've heard in some time...it's melancholy, yet hopeful...a beautifully melded combination of galaxie 500 and mazzy star... the only thing that'll keep you from riding the "repeat" button is the fact that each new track is as striking as the music that came before it... the low lows have succeeded in capturing an extraordinarily elusive human experience. Forget the world outside your stereo; fire on the bright sky holds enough musical and emotional depth to keep you entertained throughout the foreboding seasons ahead of us." Rolling Stone France. Todd Barry
15.00
Date: Thu 07.23. w. TBD: New York City-based comedian and actor Todd Barry is widely recognized for his roles as the bongo-playing "Third Conchord" on HBO's Flight of the Conchords and Mickey Rourke's deli boss in 2009 Oscar winner The Wrestler, and renowned throughout the entertainment industry for his nuanced, measured, and thoroughly original approach to stand-up. Drawing audience members in with his deadpan self-deprecation and ability to pile punchline upon punchline, his decidedly low-key stage persona belies a deeply intelligent, often biting, occasionally absurdist worldview, one lauded by discerning fans who seek a fresh yet honest update to traditional observation and social commentary. Boasting multiple stand-up appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and two Comedy Central Presents specials, and his latest one hour Comedy Central special Super Crazy. Todd's resume also includes such hit TV shows as Louie, Delocated, Bored to Death, Tim and Eric, Chappelle's Show, Sex and the City, and even Sesame Street. Among his additional feature-film highlights are Todd Phillips's Road Trip, Louis CK's Pootie Tang, and Mitch Hedberg's Los Enchiladas. You can see him soon at Sigourney Weaver's right hand man in Amy Heckerling's Vamps, and as Paul Rudd's co-worker in David Wain's Wanderlust. Time: 9:00pm. Admission: $15 Advance / $20 Day of Show. Jenny Hval
10.00
Date: Wed 09.02. w. Briana Marela, Dagmar: Jenny Hval has in recent years made a name for herself as an artist, musician and writer both in Norway and abroad. When her third record Viscera was released in 2011, WIRE magazine described the record as: "a stunning achievement both conceptually and musically." Multidisciplinary and transgressive are words often employed to describe her art, but Jenny Hval's polyphonic artistry is in fact seamlessly interwoven between musical, literary, visual and performative modes of expression. Despite her young age, she has already infused, carved and modulated an artistic voice that is altogether present, accessible and obscurely complex at the same time. Time: 9:00pm. Admission: $10. Age restrictions: 19+ After 10 pm.

Date: Sat 10.10. w. TBA, TBA. Alicia Bognanno has been cutting her teeth on the soundboards of indie clubs and studios in Nashville for the past couple of years. Bully has already opened for the likes of Best Coast, Those Darlins, and Superchunk, and are joining Drowners and Kevin Drew on tour this fall, along with playing CMJ. Bognanno's technical abilities are apparent in Bully's music, but it's the personal and emotional depth of the songs that make them so magnetic.
