Great service and tasty food. The Local is a hidden gem of Chicago's dining scene. Casual atmosphere surprises you with high-quality comfort food with a few elevated options to consider as well.
This was one of the best restaurant experiences i've ever had. Try the scottish salmon reuben- it sounds strange but it's SO good. Also the cookies are to DIE for- huge and perfectly baked.

Monday meatloaf special is sublime! Service is fantastic (especially from Marcus) and the wine list is on an iPad, even incorporating Google Maps to show where the wine comes from!
The guys behind this place (and also Chicago Cut Steakhouse) must know that it looks like a commonplace restaurant in the Hilton Suites Hotel. Read more
Did not live up to expectation. Service was slow and food was not very good. I had high hopes for a classic comfort meal when I ordered the thanksgiving meal. Dry turkey and cornbread, poor service.
Nothing special about this restaurant. Maybe their dinner menu is tastier. The breakfast menu says "eggs any style" but they would not make it hard boiled for me :(
I went in on a Sunday around 130pm (not busy at all). I waited 20 minutes and no waiter came around. No one seemed to notice the loner at the table :( so i left. How rude!
