Established in 1920, The Junior League of Syracuse, Inc. (JLS) has a long history and rich tradition of community service in central New York. Since its establishment, the work of the JLS has benefited more than 100 agencies spanning education, health and social services, and the arts, including local institutions like the the Erie Canal Museum, the MOST (formerly the Discovery Center), and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo (formerly the Burnet Park Zoo). The JLS has created significant change in the CNY community, becoming a recognized leader for developing & supporting projects that provide meaningful programs for women, children & families. The JLS' signature fundraiser, Holiday Shoppes, held each November at the New York State Fairgrounds, is well known in the community as a unique shopping experience and provides the funds for community impact efforts.
