- Nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are on the small side. Request a room that doesn’t face Powell street or you’ll hear the cable car and street traffic until very late at night.
- Ian O'NeillDecember 4, 2014Great location and nice vibe. Older hotel but well kept. Staff friendly. Rooms are small but comfy. There's something about this place that I love.
- Samar HamdanOctober 22, 2016Receptionist was super nice . Welcoming environment . Room is small but clean . No electricity plug except in the bathroom !
- DHR.comApril 17, 2012The fitness centre equipped with state-of-the-art facilities here is excellent, so you will have your fix of exercise during your stay.
- Reina MOctober 23, 2011Both AT&T and WiFi worked well. Comfy rooms with plasma tvs and marble bathrooms. Great union sq location.
- DHR.comAugust 31, 2012The bar offers lots of goodies such as a wide selection of Italian wine and delicious Italian snacks such as pastries, pizzas and salads.
- Gary PerezApril 6, 2013Very nice hotel and great customer service. Amy at the front desk is great. She knows tons about the city and is always willing to help explain.
- C MSeptember 15, 2015Room was tiny. The building is old & has been repurposed so it has character but needs touchups. Had to ask for blankets that had some thickness. Good location, but not sure if it's worth the charge.
- Claire LeeSeptember 13, 2016Wonderful staff. Ask for Maxine for a great corporate group experience 👌🏻
- Dutch EvansMarch 20, 2012Hard to unload on Powell, but plenty of parking (garage) on O'Farrell. Quaint hotel, tiny, but comfortable rooms...You gotta love SF, it's NYC...just "softer."
- Robin BertelsFebruary 10, 2015Noisy rooms, but contrary to what others say, WiFi was OK. Excellent location, just off Union Square. Valet parking at $58.
- Guilherme VieiraSeptember 14, 2016Wifi nightmare & rude employees can well define the place. Be prepared for the tiniest bathroom of your life. If you want a better internet, don't listen to the "help desk": ask to change your room.
- Klara LichtNovember 4, 2013Very central location so if you want quiet you need to go somewhere else.
- Mike BriercliffeMarch 1, 2013I like this hotel. Noisy outside overnight though. It's not at all "plastic" like many other joints - it's got real character.
- The hotel is a great choice, the bar have outstanding guys and good food. But the free wifi reminds me my US Robotics modem in the 90s.
- Clean and comfortable. Staff is pretty low energy tough.
- Kelsey BuehlerMay 27, 2012Make sure to use the Four Square discount! They took it off right away without any problems! :)
- Colleen FishDecember 13, 2011I'm getting Internet but a little slow. Room nice and big and very clean!
- The corridors smell badly. Location is great. Wifi works.
- Marybeth ReidSeptember 11, 2014Beautiful lobby but that is it! The rooms are too small, not enough outlets, a window unit air conditioner. Definitely not as nice as the website shows. I would Not recommend this hotel.
- Robin MichelsenOctober 29, 2011The hotel is nice but the parking was unexpected. We were quoted 45 a day. We ended up paying 136.80 with all the fees!
- Brooke LouiseFebruary 1, 2023Room was small and confusing and cold until I left the air con on hot for a long time. Lighting is strange. People are nice but wouldn't stay here again. Tiiiiiny bathroom.
- Francis D'SilvaSeptember 26, 2011Very nice if you want to get away..... There's no mobile connection!
- Christine WoodMay 25, 2011Staff at the front desk rocks. Ask for a late check out & they'll accommodate.
- Matt MaraOctober 4, 2018Hotel is damp, smells and rancid (from the hallways to the room). Cancelled my stay once I arrived and paid the cancellation fee.
- Rob BrehantFebruary 4, 2010Get some chartuterie and cheese samplers and a glass of wine at Bar Norcini and sit back and enjoy!
- Marco BasileJuly 21, 2011Rooms facing powell st are way too noisy. You'll go nuts trying to use the free wifi offered, it's super slow. Overall service is ok! Very nice and kind staff
- Stay at Villa Florence and Kuleto's is right downstairs. Definitely a plus!
- Cori MarshaeFebruary 17, 2012Upgrade to jr suite for more room. They charge a admin fee like a resort fee. Internet worked fine.
- Warning: They charge 15 dollar + tax per night as "admin fee" for the free Internet - but if you argue at check-out they may waive the fee. Bad customer care!
- Jenn GDecember 1, 2009had a wonderful stay here when my mom and sis came to town. Discount for bay area residents.
- KennethOctober 4, 2010If you're on AT&T network, this hotel is not for you. Stay somewhere with a big window and high floor.
- Antonio RodriguezMarch 17, 2011Nice hotel but the rooms are small. Restaurant didn't want to sit me because I was eating alone. :(
- Terrible Wi-Fi! Rooms are small. Not as nice as it seems online! Very expensive. I do NOT recommend!
- Nancy WolfrumMay 10, 2013Nice Hotel. Doesn't smell bad! Very important 4 me! Parking is so expensive. Well, one is in SF Downtown. We enjoyed our stay! WiFi was totally okay. Nothing to complain. Staff was friendly too.
- The free internet is terrible, its slow and block lots of popular websites.
- No mobile network in room, WiFi is terrible. But. All other pretty good.
- WiFi is terrible. AT&T has a signal but can't talk really. Noisy. Location is good.
